After playing through this game for the second time I thought I should
comment on it. Draconus is an awesome medieval adventure game for the
Dreamcast. If you like exploring, fighting, and excellent story then
this
game is for you! Imagine this..... its foggy, you sneak up the hill
side and
catch a glimpse of a enormous castle, an ogre catches your sent and
follows
you from behind. You hear a noise and turn around just in time to see
this
giant beast swing his axe at your head! You raise your shield and
"CLANG!",
you dodge to the side and swing your sword "CLING!" he blocks it with
his
axe. You duck another blow and return with one of your own, you score
and
blood flies...... hearing the commotion a goblin runs to assist the
ogre and
now you have your hands full..... Combat is awesome in this game,
mixed with
some good puzzle solving and one hell of a good story. Graphically
this game
looks good, hook it up to a VGA and this game looks great.
There is
around
30 hours of game time on 2 cds. The levels are big, interesting,
and
full of
life. The sound in this game is very very cool with all the effects
you
would expect out of a live environment. You collect some kind of
fairies and
at the end of every level you get to use them to upgrade your
character,
skills, or magic. You can choose between a man or
woman at the beginning of the game but I suggest the guy, he is full
of wise
crack comments that will have you on your ass more then once. Voice
acting
is superb (specially the dude telling the story). Magic is also very
cool,
with spells like flaming sword (awesome!), and shield etc...
If you
love
exploring life like worlds with a motif of medieval/fantasy and if you
love
challenging fights then don't miss out on this game, it is an
experience........
